Animal Behavioral Observations
Trained Volunteers use Zoomonitor software loaded to tablets to record animal behaviors. This data allows Reid Park Zoo to create more informed health and enrichment plans for each of our animals.
Why monitor behavior? Behavior is a component of well-being. Monitoring allows our animal care to be proactive and respond quickly.
Observational volunteers must be aged 16 years or older and meeting all required volunteer service commitments.
Group 1 Animal Observations include:
Alligator
Anteater
Sloth
