Diversity Equity Accessibility, Inclusion & Belonging Statement:

To serve Reid Park Zoo guests, our volunteers must reflect our community. We welcome, engage, and respect people of all backgrounds to ensure that diverse voices are represented and heard in support of wild animals and wild places.

Goals:

• Engage volunteers in regular, formal and informal DEAI-focused trainings to create a supportive and collaborative volunteer body.

• Assess volunteer and intern recruitment, onboarding, and retention methods to increase opportunities.

• Increase diversity among Reid Park Zoo volunteers and interns so that it reflects the demographics of the communities we serve.
